My Hero.

With today being Father's Day I saw it fit for a blog about my Dad. My Dad is my hero. He is my best friend. My Dad is just plain awesome.

My Dad has taught me everything - and I get so much of my personality from him.

Top five things I get from my Dad:
1. My love for the outdoors - My Dad is bear grills (Okay maybe not quite but he loves to fish and hunt and be outside)
2. My sense of humor.
3. We both can talk, a lot.
4. My love for history - specifically WWI & WWII.
5. And that family and true friends are the second most important thing in our lives.

I love my Dad so much and I don't know what I would do without him.

Busy.

I am still planning on uploading my graduation pictures at some point, but I have been busy.

I have finished one summer course and I have started my second course. It is horribly boring and I am currently typing this while sitting in class. It is business and professional communications and reinforces why I dread taking non-COBA classes. It literally drags on for 4 hours.

In addition to class I have moved houses. Love my new roommate Bailie!! Hopefully pictures to come soon! And I have attended Erin's Bachelorette party in Dallas! It was a lot of fun. See Jordana's post for more info: love-for-bachelorettes

And I have been planning my 6 week excursion to Europe!! I cannot wait!! It is 17 days away. Literally, it is all I think about! I cannot wait to blog more about this trip!!

I start in Oxford, England > Make my way to Cardiff, Wales > On to Manchester & Liverpool > Then I head to Berlin  > Dresden > and then Munch, Germany!

After those first two weeks I will fly to Clermont-Ferrand, France to live for 4 weeks!!! AHH I CANNOT WAIT :)

Never.

So I never blog. Like ever. I am so bad at taking the time to post updates. But as soon as something exciting happens I get too busy to blog. So I am going to try to periodically post pictures to slowly update you on the last three months!

Adulthood.

It has been so long since I have blogged that I even forgot my password. Clearly I am not great at keeping up with this.

But the past 2 months have been absolutely wonderful. I have gotten a small glimpse of adulthood and so far I like it! I am not ready to go back to Abilene. My internship ends next Friday and I am super sad about it. I have learned so much, but at the same time I have so much more to learn. I love the company I have interned for. Since I am paid hourly they won't let me accrue too much overtime so my longest days have been 10 hours. When I am in the field (at the clients) those 10 hours go by very quickly. I usually go work out right after work and so I get home around 7:30 or 8 every day. The scheduled days are nice - a completely different routine from being in college.

I enjoy hanging out with my co-works. The great thing about Whitley Penn is that they work a lot and they work really hard, but they also are flexible and take the time to hangout. We have had several happy hours, gone to the stock show, dinners together, going out together, and on opening weekend with the Rangers a big group of us are going together! Like I said in an earlier post I love living in Fort Worth. It is going to be rough going back to Abilene - I enjoy shopping and the variety of things to do downtown. I hope to get a full time offer and I cannot wait to graduate from graduate school and start my career. I am excited for all that entails.

Training.

So on Wednesday I had my first day of training for my internship. It went well and we had a company Happy Hour that night. I met a bunch of people I will be working with and everyone is so nice. It was a long day and I did not get home until around 8 pm that night. I feel like this is how long most of my days will be. Then Thursday we finished training early and went to Chimmy's for "team building." That was a bunch of fun because I got to just hang out and get to know the other intern and new hires. I was really excited when Friday rolled around and it was our last day of training. That night the other intern and I went to a social at the Modern Museum of Art and then her and I went to eat at Cantina Laredo's downtown.

The other intern is Landri and she goes to Baylor. It is kind of funny, but she is from Clyde right outside of Abilene. She is really nice and we seem to get along pretty well. Everyone else in the office is the same way. They are all so nice and have been really welcoming.

I am super nervous, but really excited. I know it will be a lot of work and really confusing, but I think it should be fun too!!! I love living in Fort Worth. I am trying to find a church I like and today I went to North Richland Hills COC. The music was good and the sermon was too. I may go back next week or try a different church. Going to church by yourself can be intimidating. Luckily Christine Painter was still in town and I got to sit with her today.

New Year.

Thanksgiving has come and gone. Christmas has come and gone. New Years has now come and gone.

Here is a quick version of the last 2 months. I came home for Thanksgiving - the first time since July. It was so nice to finally spend time with my family. Then I had final exams: which nearly killed me. I went on ski trip. It was the best trip I have ever been on. Breck '10 was a blast!!!!

After ski trip I spent my last weekend in Abilene for a while and headed to Hurst, Texas to move in with my grandma. I start my internship January 5th, which is tomorrow!!! Woahhh!!! I did go back to Weatherford for Christmas and got way more than I deserved or needed. I love Christmas so much! It is crazy with my family, but I wouldn't change anything about it.

I am terrified to start my internship. I will have no idea what I am doing. The thing I am most worried about is waking up at 6 am everyday. You see I am NOT a morning person. Seriously, I hate getting up early with every piece of me. I also don't know what it is like to work a full-time busy season. That is scary.... However, I am super excited to live in DFW. I love it so far. I forgot how convenient it is to live in the metroplex. The North East Mall is a few blocks away. This could be a problem. I went to the outlet malls in Allen and seriously bought a new work wardrobe. I cannot wait to wear my new clothes. I shopped at the Ann Taylor outlet store and spent 2 hours in there. Luckily KrisAnn met me there and helped me pick everything out. I ended up with 14 new tops/sweaters/cardigans, 2 pairs of slacks, a belt, and a new necklace.

Now for New Years: Kylah and a few people from Abilene were coming to DFW for the weekend. Kylah flew into Love Field on Friday and her friend from home, Chelsea came too. Rachel and Bailey were in town and so was Ryder. We went to downtown Dallas on New Years eve, Bailey's on New Year Day, and then spent the rest of the weekend shopping. It was an absolute blast. I dropped Rachel and Kylah off at DFW airport today so they could fly to Colorado for Leadership Summit and I took Chelsea to Love Field so she could go back to Lubbock. I miss them all already!

Beltway.

There are so many things that I will miss about Abilene when I leave, but one of the things I will miss the most is Beltway Park Baptist Church. It is possibly the first church I have even been to where I do not have to force myself to focus and listen the entire time. The preacher there, David McQueen, is fantastic you can see his passion for preaching and I love going to church each Sunday.

This Sunday we sang a song I had never heard of and I fell in love with it so I wanted to share it. Of course I came home and bought it off i-tunes.
